This legit 1967 Austin Mk1 Mini Cooper has a Heritage Certificate and has been upgraded with a 1275cc engine and Cooper “S” components that include 7.5” Cooper “S” disc brakes, a 120-mph Cooper “S” speedo, a right-hand Cooper “S” (twin) fuel tank, Cooper “S” steel wheels (9-hole vented, with small hubcaps) and front and rear Cooper “S” badging.
It is a true, factory left-hand drive (LHD) North American Export model.
Features shared with Cooper S models include the chrome brightwork around the door frames, a “boot board” in back that covers the battery and spare wheel, and chrome lidded ashtrays. The proper, original factory boot-board brackets and pedestals remain intact.
The numbers on the Heritage Certificate match the (original) Chassis Number (VIN) plate and the (original) Body Number plate on the original front panel. (The rebuilt 1275cc engine’s number plate is a repro.)
It’s a true Mk1 model, so it has the cool, quirky doors with sliding windows and external door hinges, small oval taillights and the distinctive Mk1 “mustache grille” with “whiskers.” As original to the “S,” “Cooper” and “Deluxe” models, this Mini’s bumpers are fitted with corner bars and overriders.
The original Tartan Red body and Black roof exterior colors are complemented by the Old English White Cooper “S” (9-hole) steel wheels and small chrome hubcaps, as fitted to “S” models.
