MiniGuy was a DMV-licensed dealer/broker in California for 12 years, but all cars on this site are “For Sale by Owner.” For details or more info, please contact us. We also assist in having thorough pre-purchase evaluations performed, Escrow services to provide for more-secure funds and title transfers, and door-to-door transport. When considering a car for purchase – including ones on this site, it's prudent to pay for a specialist or your mechanic to check them out, since these will not necessarily have undergone the same scrutiny they would've had before being offered in MiniGuy's former showroom. We also offer "Buyers Agent" services for locating cars, or consulting, or assisting with negotiations or transactions.

NOTE: We're always seeking classic Minis for these "Consignment / For Sale by Owner" pages. Please use our Vehicle Request Form or contact us at: miniguy@miniguy.com

$6,5001959 Austin Mini

UPDATE: Now $6,500 includes BOTH Minis!

These two unfinished Mk1 Minis are being offered with virtually all the parts required to complete their restorations, including many new, NOS and used parts. The first is a red 1960 with a solid body, the other is a 1959 that already has many of its rust issues repaired. The red ’60 has a 1275cc with disc brakes to be installed; the gray ’59 has its original 850cc engine. The seller prefers to sell them as a pair, including the many, many extra parts that are currently being inventoried. Both have all the paperwork required for transferring ownership, including Bills of Sale, a Georgia title and an Alabama (non-title) registration receipt. Delivery of the entire package may be available at extra cost.

Both are genuine “Mk1” models, so they have the cool, quirky doors with external hinges and sliding windows, a “mustache” grille in front and the small oval taillights. (Mk2 models, which were produced from mid-’67 through ’69, had larger grilles that no longer had the distinctive Mk1 mustaches and had larger taillights).

The steering is left-hand-drive (LHD), but all Minis have the holes and mountings to put the steering on either side, if you must.

FINE PRINT: MiniGuy / Lewis Motors makes no representations as to the accuracy of any seller’s listings on our “Consignment – For Sale by Owner” pages, including but not limited to, physical or mechanical condition of vehicle, status of title or registration, any applicable emissions-equipment, emissions-testing or emissions-certification requirements, as well as relevant safety equipment or safety-related requirements, import status, or fitness for use. Please note that emissions or safety requirements may differ by state, region, or country. Potential buyers should consult their appropriate state or local agencies or departments to determine, among other things, the status of a particular vehicle related to the above, including vehicles that might normally be exempt from emissions testing, emissions equipment, or emissions certification requirements. For California buyers or sellers, more information may be obtained from various state and local agencies, including, but not limited to, the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the Bureau of Automotive Repairs (BAR) and the California Air Resources Board (ARB).

BOTTOM LINE: This is a case where it pays to do your homework. Be careful what you buy, you may not be able to drive it in some states, including California.

2019 – UPDATED FOOTNOTE: According to current California ARB guidelines, pre-1968 classic Minis – because of their age – would not be subject to the restrictions that would otherwise apply to direct-import vehicles. (Great news for these legitimate ’60 and ’61 Mk1 Minis!)
