MiniGuy was a DMV-licensed dealer/broker in California for 12 years, but all cars on this site are “For Sale by Owner.” For details or more info, please contact us. We also assist in having thorough pre-purchase evaluations performed, Escrow services to provide for more-secure funds and title transfers, and door-to-door transport. When considering a car for purchase – including ones on this site, it's prudent to pay for a specialist or your mechanic to check them out, since these will not necessarily have undergone the same scrutiny they would've had before being offered in MiniGuy's former showroom. We also offer "Buyers Agent" services for locating cars, or consulting, or assisting with negotiations or transactions.

NOTE: We're always seeking classic Minis for these "Consignment / For Sale by Owner" pages. Please use our Vehicle Request Form or contact us at:

A Bit About the Car:
By owner/restorer Don Racine, of Mini Mania

This car was found about 15 years ago, neglected, and minus the original motor. When I found it, I already owned the first of these “Nichols Specials” (Now driven for me by J.P. Molerus of France, and currently running in L.A. area).

We believe this is the third of the four Nichols built. It was originally raced by Perry Peron, and built (at least in part) by Stan Bucklin. After a little research, I was able to contact both Jerry Fairchild and Dr. Bill “Doc” Molle.

After I restored the car, I was fortunate to have Doc drive the car at Laguna Seca on its maiden run. After Jerry passed away, Doc contacted me, saying he had a gift for me – and I should visit him one day. Several months later, I did so, and was stunned by what he presented me – the original Twin Overhead Cam motor that Jerry had kept for years, (before he passed away about 6 months earlier). Although I still have the (intact) motor and most of the fuel-injection set-up, I have never tried to run it.

Throughout the history of the Fairchild, it was raced with various versions of Panhard power units, including the Fuel-Injected ones, as described in the book, “Sportscar Specials.” This car was also raced with a fuel-injected, twin-overhead cam, one-of-a-kind, Panhard engine developed by Jerry Fairchild. This car also ran with a production supercharger – as used on the Panhard Junior!

Currently the car is powered by a motor I developed, which is a copy of the motor as used in the Aardvark.
