UPDATE: GONE, GONE, GONE to its new home!
Lots of pics – including closeups – available on request… Looks much nicer in person!
This unique – and sleek – ’53 Studebaker coupe is fitted with a ’72 Ford Thunderbird 429CID engine that’s stock except for Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and 4-barrel carb. Ford C6 automatic transmission with B&M shifter.
Narrowed Ford 9″ rear end w/ 3.50 gears. Mustang II front suspension w/ disc brakes. Power steering, power brakes, AM/FM cassette with power antenna. Tilt steering column with Grant steering wheel. Power driver’s bucket seat. Retracting seat belts.
Car has no heater, air conditioning or rear seat. Battery mounted in trunk. Centerline wheels with 215/70R14 in the front, and HUGE N50-15’s in the rear. The rear wing is bolted to the rear decklid. (Despite what some of the pics show, the paint colors are bright and the custom interior is in excellent condition and matches the exterior colors.)
The dual exhaust pipes exit just in front of the rear tires.
All work was done by professionals. Mechanical work performed by The Old Ford Store, a street rod fabrication and parts shop in Tucson, Arizona. The interior is stitched by Creative Concepts, a Tucson custom shop. The red stripes aren’t paint, they’re (nicely done) vinyl tape.
UPDATE: Now located in our Ventura, SoCal showroom. May consider trade (or +/- cash trade) for Mini, a Riley Elf or other unique, tiny or “interesting” cars of all type and vintage – even projects.
