NOTE: This Elise is built as a streetable competition vehicle, and may not be (legally) registered in the United States. It is, however, legally imported, through Lotus Cars USA, with all the required documentation and factory MSO. (More information on this subject follows at the bottom).
This Elise has fewer than 800 miles, and it has always been showroom kept.
History and specs:
Conceived for road use, but designed as a racecar, the Lotus Elise was always destined to put Lotus firmly back on the racetrack. The Lotus Elise possesses all of the characteristics of an exciting racecar: lightweight, fast and with superlative handling. It is also extremely safe as the super-light but high-strength spaceframe structure of the epoxy-bonded aluminum extrusions provides excellent durability and torsional rigidity. This is technology which until now has only been used in high cost competition cars.
Built by Lotus Sport Special Vehicles Operations at Hethel, Norfolk, this race version of the Elise is fitted with Lotus Sport Original Performance Products and is intended for circuit use only.
The development and selection of ultra-lightweight competition accessories, including specially manufactured lightweight front and rear clamshells, reduce the overall vehicle weight to 670 kg.
The result is a stunning power to weight ratio of 283.6 bhp per tonne which, combined with the legendary Lotus ride & handling and a close ratio gearbox, gives performance that until now only super league cars could deliver.
The Lotus Sport Elise accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 4.4 seconds and from 0-160 km/h in 10.7 seconds (0-100mph in 10.9s).
Race developed brake pads and track specification brake discs are mounted for use with slicks. The competition springs and dampers lower the car by 40mm while maintaining the roll axis of the car relative to the ground. This enables the track car to handle with the same peerless characteristics as the standard Elise.
A full safety kit has been installed, including a RAC approved roll cage with diagonal bracing for circuit use, a competition seat with a six point harness exclusive to the Elise and a higher rate (stiffened) front anti-roll bar.
The Lotus Sport Elise also mounts a competition silencer kit reducing overall weight and enhancing noise quality, a specially designed competition air filter and carbon fibre cold air box, a catalyst replacement pipe, an oil cooler kit, a lightweight competition battery with master switch, a non-locking fuel cap and a lightweight, polycarbonate rear screen. A removable steering wheel completes the competition package.
Tested extensively on the track, the Lotus Sport Elise performs with the aptitude and dynamics of a finely tuned thoroughbred mid-engine racecar – a true Lotus in which enthusiasts can competitively drive the Elise to wins in many categories and classes of motorsport.

This is an engine specification developed by Rover for aftermarket applications which also meets strict durability targets. Consists of changes to cylinder head, valves, pistons, crankshaft, flywheel and uses solid valve lifters in place of the standard items to give a maximum of 8000rpm
Competition Air Filter and Cold Air Box:
Designed to fully optimize the 190 engine in the Elise application. Manufactured from carbon fibre to reduce weight.
Close Ratio Gearbox:
Changes to fifth gear and final drive ratio gives improved vehicle performance.

Koni dampers with modified open and closed lengths and incorporating an adjustable spring platform to reduce vehicle ride height. Also changes to internal bump and rebound damping valving provide improved track performance.
Higher rate front (40N/mm and rear (50N/mm) springs to improve track performance while still providing acceptable road comfort. These springs are designed to fit the competition dampers and lower the vehicle ride height.
Front anti-roll bar:
Fits original mountings and gives a higher rate with some provision for adjustment.
Competition Drivers Seat:
Unique FIA approved competition seat to fit the Elise complete with mounting system and provision for six point safety harness. Enables the drives to sit low in the vehicle.
Full FIA approved six point competition seat belt unique to the Elise.
Competition Silencer Kit:
Enhances noise quality and reduces overall weight.
Catalyst Replacement Pipe:
Straight pipe to replace catalyst for competition use.
Cast iron, drilled brake discs for competition use with slick tires. Direct replacement for standard disc to withstand higher temperatures.
Uniball rear toe link assy:
Direct replacement for current production assembly to cope with the increased loads associated with slick tires.
Oil Cooler Kit:
Oil cooler to reduce oil temperature during competition especially in high ambients.
Competition, FIA approved plumbed in system.
Battery Master Switch:
To isolate battery for competition use.
Lightweight battery and mounting to fit standard vehicle.
FIA approved to roll over bar with diagonal bracing for circuit use or smaller brace allowing passenger seat to be used.
Polycarbonate rear cabin glass:
Lightweight rear cabin glass.

Standard road tires and wheels as individual owners will want to fit their own preference.
NOTE: This Elise was cleared by U.S. Customs and not subject to requirements that it be exported back after a certain period of time (ie: as it would be for competition or show-and-display vehicles, or for foreign-citizen temporary use).
