MiniGuy was a DMV-licensed dealer/broker in California for 12 years, but all cars on this site are “For Sale by Owner.” For details or more info, please contact us. We also assist in having thorough pre-purchase evaluations performed, Escrow services to provide for more-secure funds and title transfers, and door-to-door transport. When considering a car for purchase – including ones on this site, it's prudent to pay for a specialist or your mechanic to check them out, since these will not necessarily have undergone the same scrutiny they would've had before being offered in MiniGuy's former showroom. We also offer "Buyers Agent" services for locating cars, or consulting, or assisting with negotiations or transactions.

NOTE: We're always seeking classic Minis for these "Consignment / For Sale by Owner" pages. Please use our Vehicle Request Form or contact us at:

$15,0001980 Austin Mini pickup

Classic Mini pickups are rare and getting very hard to find!

This bright blue Mini pickup sports a white roof and a white custom, lift-up bed cover. Upgrades include 10″ Minilight-style alloys, quad driving lights and a color-coordinated interior. It is powered by an 850cc engine and has a 4-speed manual transmission.

A unique feature of the doors on Mini pickups (and panel vans) is that through the end of their production in the ’80’s, their doors still had the same external hinges and the cool, quirky sliding side windows as the ’59-’69 standard (Mk1 and Mk2) Mini sedans. (Mk3 Mini production started in 1970 and featured doors with conventional roll-up windows and internal door hinges )

The steering is right-hand-drive.

Exterior Upgrades:

  • Chrome grille (removable for easier maintenance access; original grille was a fixed panel)
  • 10″x5″ Minilight-style (8-spoke) alloy wheels
  • Black wheel arches (flares) to accent the wider stance
  • Twin chrome bullet side-view mirrors
  • Quad driving lights
  • Custom fiberglass bed cover lifts up in the rear

Engine and Brakes:

The 850cc 4-cylinder engine is mated with a four-speed, four-synchro manual transmission

  • Single SU carburetor
  • Alternator
  • Lucas gold coil
  • Dual-circuit master cylinder
  • Drum brakes (front and rear)

In the Cabin:

The color-coordinated interior upholstery is trimmed in black vinyl with blue inserts

  • Aftermarket sport seats with side bolsters
  • sport steering wheel
  • Air horns
  • The odometer in the 90-mph speedo reads 43,019 miles (true miles unknown)
  • Heater (was an option on earlier models)

Notes & FYI:

  • In some photos, the bonnet (hood) was not fully closed. (The seller reports that it closes like it should.)
  • Import documentation is included
  • Reportedly runs well, drives well
