MiniGuy was a DMV-licensed dealer/broker in California for 12 years, but all cars on this site are “For Sale by Owner.” For details or more info, please contact us. We also assist in having thorough pre-purchase evaluations performed, Escrow services to provide for more-secure funds and title transfers, and door-to-door transport. When considering a car for purchase – including ones on this site, it's prudent to pay for a specialist or your mechanic to check them out, since these will not necessarily have undergone the same scrutiny they would've had before being offered in MiniGuy's former showroom. We also offer "Buyers Agent" services for locating cars, or consulting, or assisting with negotiations or transactions.

NOTE: We're always seeking classic Minis for these "Consignment / For Sale by Owner" pages. Please use our Vehicle Request Form or contact us at: miniguy@miniguy.com

Sold1978 Pontiac Lemans Safari (woodie) wagon

This one was too nice to pass up! 1978 Pontiac Lemans Safari 4-door wagon w/ factory wood vinyl siding, with 305 V8 w/ 350 turbo automatic transmission, factory positraction rear end, and factory air conditioning. One lady owner until fairly recently. Sold new in California, and has always stayed in California. Has every option, including power steering, brakes, locks and front seat. Medium gold metallic paint and beige vinyl interior are nearly flawless, and the factory woodgrain vinyl siding is in excellent condition. Still has: Original paint (except for hood (ie: bonnet), which was redone nicely). Original upholstery, carpet and headliner (in nearly flawless condition). Original manual, build sheet and window sticker. Original jack, spare and tools. Original GM gloves that came with the car (ie: for changing tires). Has 89,000 original miles, and everything works. It runs, drives excellent. Factory dash has wood grain and brushed aluminum. All emission control equipment is intact; passes California testing. [update Sept. 14 – turn signal switch loose; clock not working.] Minor mods / custom touches include: Grant wood steering wheel, cloth seat cover on front seat (original upholstery is perfect), Sony CD stereo, chromed 1960’s Chevrolet Camaro Rallye wheels, with aftermarket (all-chrome) center caps and wider rear tires. Air shocks in the rear. Tinted windows. Color-changing paint in center of trim surrounding the wood siding, and in the rear license plate recessed area. Slightly lowered in front, slightly raised in rear. Roof rack is removed, but chrome roof rails retained. Chrome exhaust tips. Thin pin stripes (painted on, not just vinyl). Alarm system with remote unlock. Heavy-duty transmission cooler. Personalized License plates (something like: “78 Woody”; not currently mounted on car.) Used as a daily driver by the most-recent owner, a car nut who put 20K miles on it in 14 months while cleaning it up, improving it and adding the minor mods above. Recent work includes all new disc calipers, rotors, drums, brake shoes and pads. New radiator, water pump, fan clutch and radiator hoses. Includes car cover. No trailer hitch, but we’ll likely be adding one. Clear California title, and current registration. Ready to enjoy now. Attracts attention – and offers to buy it – everywhere you go. Asking $5500, or make interesting (+/- cash) trade. [ ID# 5CMD420 ]
