What We Formerly Did: (read it below)
We specialized in interesting cars. Ones that make you smile when you see them, and when you drive them. Not just classic Minis, but any car that strikes our fancy. We’ve sent classic Mini to happy customers in more than 25 states, and to several countries.
We’ve shuttered our showroom, now we’re as close as your computer!

Hello from the “MiniGuy!”

Mr. & Mrs. MiniGuy & MiniGuys-in-training in our former Camarillo showroom
To better do what we do best – introduce buyers to sellers – we have shuttered our Ventura showroom. While we made many great friends there, we found the requirements from the city, the county, the state and the federal government such that our small business would do better if we moved to another state.
However, California is our home and it’s here we will stay.
What we do best also happens to be the most fun, and enables us to help more people with these zippy little cars, or what we call, “Cars that make people happy!”
If you have a Mini and it’s time to send it to a good home, or, if you are looking to adopt a Mini and would like to be introduced to a willing seller, then we’re the ones you need to help you.
We’re always up for talking Minis, and there’s no such thing as a stupid question. Shoot us an email or give us a call, we’d be glad to hear from you – even if you’re not in the market to buy or sell.
Looking to sell?

The “nicest Mini in the world” is what we were told. I don’t know about that, but it’s certainly the nicest Mini I’ve ever sold! – MiniGuy
I have a good friend who really likes cars, and has an extensive collection of what he calls, “orphan cars,” meaning the ones that other collectors might overlook. It brings him great joy to bring a unique car back to life, and share his passion with others.
He once told me, “I love to buy, but I hate to sell.” He – like many sellers – have little patience to deal with flaky potential buyers.
That’s where we come in. We handle all the details to make it as simple as possible for those looking to place their unique cars in new homes. First, we interview you in depth to get all the pertinent information – both good and bad – so you won’t have to answer the same questions over and over in phone calls, or emails. With our thorough questions, we can better write an honest, informative and fun-to-read description of your car that we will use when shopping your car to potential buyers, or when posting it to our “Consignment” page. If we feel you aren’t being honest about your car, we won’t help you. Period.
For photographs, if it’s not feasible to come ourselves to take good, sharp, professional-quality photographs of all the pertinent areas, we will either arrange for a photographer to come, or we’ll send you our extensive “photo guidelines” that will help you in taking just the right views – including the flaws – so your car looks its best, while giving an honest view too.
If we accept your car for our “Consignment – For Sale by Owner” program, it then becomes our job to weed out all the “tire-kickers”, “time-wasters,” “picture collectors” and scammers. Our goal is that the first person we send to you will be the one who buys your car – and we’re very successful at that. References gladly provided.
Looking to buy?
For buyers, we have many cars available from sellers who are offering them, including many that may not yet be on our “Consignment – For Sale by Owner” pages of this web site. The cars we “broker” (meaning we introduce buyers to sellers) are generally ones that are not advertised elsewhere.
If we can’t match your wants and needs with a Mini that we are assisting a seller with, we can still help you. We can help steer you away from scammers, cars that are fake or ones that we know aren’t as represented, or ones that are just plain turkeys.
We can also arrange for our famous “inch by inch tour” of cars (ie: that we accept in our “Consignment – For Sale by Owner” program) over the phone, or we can connect you with reputable experts in your area who can provide a thorough, independent mechanical inspection of your potential purchase.
While a true expert will cost you, it will be money well spent if it prevents you from buying a money-pit, or a car that is not as represented. Even if the car ends up being one that isn’t worth buying, you will get quite an education that will help you with the next prospect. Pay the money. You’ll thank us later.
To better serve both buyers and sellers:

MiniGuy & More Minis at our former Ventura showroom
We’ve relocated to a cozy little office in Agoura Hills, (Southern California) where we live close enough to pedal to work on nice days!
While we now focus more on “brokering” Minis – primarily via the “Consignment – For Sale by Owner” section of our newly revamped web site, we also offer a variety of consulting and appraisal work related to Minis. Feel free to contact us at our new office.
Thanks, we look forward to hearing from you….

FINE PRINT: MiniGuy / Lewis Motors makes no representations as to the accuracy of any seller’s listings on our “Consignment – For Sale by Owner” pages, including but not limited to, physical or mechanical condition of vehicle, status of title or registration, any applicable emissions-equipment, emissions-testing or emissions-certification requirements, as well as relevant safety equipment or safety-related requirements, import status, or fitness for use. Please note that emissions or safety requirements may differ by state, region, or country. Potential buyers should consult their appropriate state or local agencies or departments to determine, among other things, the status of a particular vehicle related to the above, including vehicles that might normally be exempt from emissions testing, emissions equipment, or emissions certification requirements. For California buyers or sellers, more information may be obtained from various state and local agencies, including, but not limited to, the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the Bureau of Automotive Repairs (BAR) and the California Air Resources Board (ARB).
BOTTOM LINE: This is a case where it pays to do your homework. Be careful what you buy, you may not be able to drive it in California.
