1969 Mk2 Mini w/ 1275cc & fresh black-and-white paint [located in Ventura, CA ]
UPDATE: Price reduced to $7,800 for quick sale! Act fast - this "Consignment" Mini won't stay around long, since the current owner has another project (a Bugeye Sprite) that he'd like to finish up quickly, and he could use the funds and space! This very nice, daily-driver-quality Mk2 Mini "Cooper S lookalike" has a recent black-and-white paint job done over its solid (ie: not rusty) body shell. Not concours level paint, but we think it looks pretty darn good. Its original engine was upgraded to a 1275cc, the largest engine fitted by the factory! Has single SU carb, for easier maintenance. Other upgrades include wider, vintage-style "Cooper reverse" wheels (with the small, stainless-steel hubcaps) and small flares, or "wheel arches". Has nearly-new performance header ("long center branch," or "LCB" type) and a new, low-restriction (but still quiet) RC40 muffler system. Other new parts fitted include: new windshield, new rubber seals on all doors, windows, and headlight buckets, and new felt sliding-window channels. Also added was a Mk1 Austin Mini-style "wavy" grill w/ screw-down knob attachments. Among the nice little improvements added are: 1.) new, aftermarket "door stays", (ie: the metal brackets that replace the original straps, so the door won't just swing closed on your leg), 2.) Many of the steel fasteners were changed out for stainless steel replacements, 3.) unique, yellow-tinted, three-way headlights (normal and high beams, and daytime running lights - all in one unit), 4.) an aftermarket upper engine stabilizer, and, 5.) new, heavy-duty adjustable tie rods. Also new are both chrome bumpers, and the carpets. Interior door and side panels are recovered in a light gray vinyl that looks great with the exterior colors. Recently serviced, with fresh oil, air and fuel filters, new thermostat and coolant, and timing and points have been adjusted. Odometer reads 74,150 miles, but it's been replaced at some point. Recent repairs include: rebuilt clutch master and slave cylinders, and new left side ball joint. Present owner says if he was going to keep this Mini, he would: 1.) replace the clutch throwout bearing, since he says it's making noises, 2.) Hook up the driving lights, 3.) and perhaps replace the seat upholstery with a different color to match the new interior panels and carpets, even though the current beige vinyl seats are in good condition. On his "wish list" is a disc brake conversion for the fronts, but the current twin-leading shoe drum brakes work fine. Call or email MiniGuy for additional information and pics. Was asking $8800, now priced for a really quick sale at $7,800 (firm). [ ID# FK7120 ] Click here to see the "Before" pics of the old paint job!
