UPDATE: We just DROVE this Mini back from Denver and it's now in the MiniGuy showroom in Ventura. That's 16 hours on the road, and it didn't miss a beat! Drive it anywhere! UPDATE: Now shown are pics of the dash changed back to classic "center pod" style, and pics of the black half-leather interior with red piping. This very nice red-with-black-roof Mk3 Mini “Cooper replica” has been fitted with a newer body shell and upgraded to a low-mileage 1275cc “A+” engine with a Stage 1 kit, meaning a low-restriction intake and exhaust system comprised of an alloy inlet manifold, a Pipercross air filter assembly, an LCB (long-center-branch) header and a brand-new RC40 twin-box exhaust. For less maintenance, it has been fitted with a Lumenition electronic distributor. To handle the increased “go” from the larger engine, the brakes have been upgraded to late-type, servo-boosted vented turbo disc setups in front, wider, Cooper S drums in back, and braided brake hoses all around. Suspension and handling upgrades include Hi-Lo’s (adjustable-height suspension) on all four corners, adjustable tie-bars, negative camber front and rear, and four Spax adjustable shocks. Wheels are upgraded to 5x12" “Minilife” (8-spoke) alloys with 165/60/12 tires. Outside, there’s a new Cooper grill, new chrome sill/wheel arch covers and new chrome windscreen-seal trim front and rear. The roof has been painted black, to give it the look of a factory Mini Cooper, (ie: which generally had white or black roofs). The wheel arches are also black, with chrome edging. Inside, the standard low-back seats been upgraded to later-type, half-leather reclining models (with headrests). The black carpets are all new. There’s a sport steering wheel, and the dash has been converted to the classic "3-clock" center-pod style, including new dash cards and trim. This Mini is quick, and clean. Ready to enjoy now.
