Citroen Dyane - Rare 'Upmarket' Model of 2CV

UPDATE: seller reports it's GONE, GONE, GONE!

Citroen 2CV's were commonplace basic transportation throughout Europe, but this one's the rare "upmarket" Dyane version.

According to some accounts, there are only 12-15 in the U.S., versus numerous 2CVs.

And yes, the "look at me!" lime green color is original.

In preparation for a full resto, the previous owner gathered new (NOS) and reproduction parts, including new top, new hood, doors, fenders, bumper, lenses, door handles, etc. - about $2k worth!

The car is complete and runs well. Ideally, the new parts would be installed and the car repainted. The chassis is solid, and there's only some minor rust in the front floor. Seller reports it should be an easy and fun restoration project.

Note: Not unlike classic Minis, which had the same body size and style for virtually all their production run, the Citroen 2CV's and their variants appeared the same for many years.

This Dyane has been in California for a long time, reports the seller, and that the registration documents from previous owner show 1967 model year. it reportedly appears to have a significant number of 1976 components, and possibly the shell too. Either way, parts are readily available in the U.S..

Asking $4,000, may consider offers or interesting trades...

Located in Santa Barbara, Calif. Nationwide transport available at extra cost.

UPDATE: seller reports it's GONE, GONE, GONE!
