Screaming Yellow Pickup (in Montana)
Note: Although this nice pickup is in Montana, we can arrange nationwide door-to-door transport and an escrow service to protect you and the seller. Contact us for details, license and multiple references.
This bright Ferrari yellow pickup is incredibly clean and nicely customized. This one is guaranteed to put just as wide a grin on your face when you drive it - and just as many smiles, waves and thumbs up as you zip around in it - as any "left-the-factory-as-it-is" Mini model. That said...
This pickup - and you might not realize it at first glance - is actually a converted Mini panel van!
One small clue that it's a conversion is that the tailgate slopes forward, just like it would on the rears of panel vans and wagons; factory pickups have vertical tailgates.
This truck is also unique in that it's an Australian-assembled version, so it has the (highly sought-after) external-hinge doors that have roll-up-windows and "wind wings" (or "quarterlights, as they are called overseas). Traditionally, external-hinge doors (ie: on Mk1 and Mk2 models) would have had sliding windows. The UK-built "Mk3" (ie: 1970 and up) Minis went to rollup windows and had internal hinges, but had no "wind wings." Another unique feature is its chrome lift-up door handles; which came on a handful of the last Australian Cooper S's built (ie: before the model was replaced by the Clubman 1275 GT), and on some later external-hinge wagons and vans.
The Ferrari yellow paint is hard to miss - and looks even better than when you see it in person. And, if you wish, the custom tire-tread-pattern graphics are black vinyl and, as such, can usually be removed without paint damage.
Engine is 1275cc w/ freshly rebuilt four-synchro, four-speed (smoother shifting) trans and a downdraft Weber carb.
Full restoration less than one year ago involved stripping down to a bare shell, then restoration/repaint, then all new interior, suspension, steering and brake components. (list available)
Aftermarket and custom features include 10" Minilight-style (8-spoke) alloys and small black wheel arches (ie: flares). Front end fitted with Mk2-plus-type grille, chrome headlamp eyelashes and black fiberglass air dam below bumper. Under custom bed cover is custom-built toolbox constructed of diamond-plate aluminum. Interior done in black-and-yellow upholstery; seats are later-model type with side bolsters. Stereo and speakers in cabin; external antenna added. Aftermarket wood steering wheel and flame-pattern floor mats.
If you attended Spring Thing 2008 near Orlando, Florida, you may have seen this very nice truck zipping around there and at the Old Town cruise! (And yes, the seller drove this truck there from his home in Montana!)

Asking $11, 750 - a deal when you consider what it cost to build!.
Note: Sorry, but, as it is a 1976, it may not be registered in California.

BOTTOM LINE: This is a case where it pays to do your homework. Be careful what you buy, you may not be able to drive it in California - and this particular year of Mini truck cannot be.
