This very clean Tahiti Blue 1980 Morris Mini "Mascot" is a professionally converted, two-seat convertible built using a Banham roadster kit. Has left-hand-drive (LHD) steering. (But can be converted to RHD, as all Minis come with the holes and mountings to put the steering on either side.)

Has 998cc engine mated to four-speed, four-synchro "rod shift" (stronger, smoother shifting) transmission. Car reportedly has just 48k original miles; seller purchased it from original owner! Has front disc brakes w/ 8.4" rotors (the largest offered by factory). Uprated suspension for quicker cornering.

Drives at freeway speeds without even breathing hard! Daily driven, weather permitting. Always garaged, never driven in the wet.

Upgrades include custom 13" alloy wheels w/ Sportspack-style flares, quad driving lights in front, unique Union Jack flag bonnet stripes, twin chrome bullet mirrors, late Mini winged bonnet and bootlid badges, Cooper laurels on rear flanks.

Inside is "three clock" walnut dash, door cappings and furniture. Aftermarket sport steering wheel. Sound system is JVC radio/CD player w/ two woofers, 3” speakers and tweeters. Sheepskin seat covers mean cooler seats in summer, (yet better-insulated in winter).

Runs great, drives great. Seller reports it's in excellent mechanical condition and gets 30-plus mpg around town.

The Banham roadster kit - said to be one of the best available - also includes all the appropriate reinforcements to stiffen the body structure to be safer and stronger. The Bantam kit alone runs about $3,000, not including the custom top that can be raised in 10 minutes. Has rollbar w/ three-point retractable seatbelts. Conversion kit professionally installed by Mini restorer/specialist in Denmark over 1.5-year period; originally built for restorer's wife.

Included in the sale is variety of new spare parts not fitted, including shocks, brake rotors and pads, etc. with a total value of approximately $1k.
